While Tuesday's final might appear a worse loss than Saturday's 40 39 shortcoming to Yankton, Robey said he actually felt better about the more recent loss, which was the Knight's fourth in five games.
Braxton Elliott countered with a trey of his own on the Knights' next possession, but a 3 pointer from Kirkwold with 2:39 to play served as the dagger. It was also one of four shots from deep to fall for the Riders in the quarter.

Roosevelt led by as many as eight points in the third quarter before O'Gorman (8 9) cut the deficit to 35 33 on a late Davis Cowan basket. Cowan added another bucket early in the fourth, but the Riders answered with a 10 0 run to jump in front 47 35 with 3:29 remaining, the final basket of the stretch being Waterproof Palladium
"I think it was the energy we brought in the fourth quarter that made the difference and our offensive rebounding definitely showed up," said Phillips, who was 6 of 7 from the floor. "We work on endurance a lot in practice so we always know we have that edge over teams. "I think we made strides, and I know that sounds funny because we just got beat by double digits, but I don't think the score was an indicator of how close the game was for the most part," he said.
"It's a momentum deal," said Robey, who got 19 points from Elliott and 10 from Cowan. "It seems like when you give up a second and third rebound, just nothing good pans out of it."
Roosevelt also outrebounded O'Gorman 23 18. While not a steep margin, the Riders seemed to cash in on the majority of their offensive rebounds.
The first three quarters of Tuesday's contest could serve as a pretest for the challenging slate ahead.
